Whether someone is following the Atkins diet, the South Beach diet, the advice contained in Tom Venuto's e-Book, "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle" or even a program of their own design, success depends on enjoying what you eat. When you don't enjoy your food, you resist it. Resistance creates stress and stress is counter-productive to fat loss. It is important to look at eating as a part of your life, not a chore that interrupts your life.
Walk everyday for at least 20-30 Minutes and perform in a natural living environment is best. (Parks, fields, Gardens, Beach, etc) Please note the walk does not have to be a fast pace, for many people a leisurely stroll is exactly what the doctor ordered. Avoid the hyped up American and/or Western view that exercise should be intense and aimed at 'losing weight' 'burning calories' or 'building muscle' - while these exercise modalities are important they are NOT recommended if you are stressed out.
Bottom line, Healthy living advice living is about your action, about you putting one foot in front of the other and going forward. Use your heart, it's in charge, to know what's right. Use your brain to think, before you shove that next 'heart attack' on a plate into your mouth!
Another one of my Healthy Living Tips for your Physical Wellness will let you know that there are very effective ways out there that will work alongside any treatment you might be under.
This Health and living advice is why I believe it is great to quiet and calm things down. Don't be afraid to juice fast for a few days. Try a "5-day high-fiber cleanse" to reconnect with your own health. Don't listen to your friends who will scream "starvation" and swear you are going to lose pounds of muscle. Muscle doesn't disappear overnight, and starvation is when you have NO food, not when you go on a modified fast that provides nutrients but gives you the ability to break out of a cycle of cravings and self-abuse that modern, processed foods create.
Set targets and work accordingly: Determine what you want from the workout. Is it weight lose, add muscles or tone your muscle. Once you know this it becomes easier to get it.
Getting Help: Having the courage to get help is what separates those who succeed from those who fail. Getting help in the areas mentioned above can be achieved through the use of a coach, mentor or reading self help books and materials.
